An argument that curebie parents feel totally irrelevant to their situation:
• Many famous people thoughout history had autistic traits.
Their kid might be severly disabled as a result of autistic traits. If they are geniuses that wont necessarily help them getting any further.
I think there are more.
Many autistic adults would rather not be cured
Parents think that because their children are under 18 years old and have behavioral and learning dysfunctions, that they should have the right to speak and decide for them. Even if it means changing their entire personality to a "normal" one, just so they can fit in to society later in life, and be sucessful. After all, parents are supposed to do what's best for their kids. But instead of changing their kids' personalities, how about change society and it's attitude?
sucess is relivitive, just like normalicy. life is what you make it.
relitvitive just has to be relative.
sucess was written twice!
It is written success, I am a bit picky cuz I am learning English!

I agree, and would like to think that at least some parents would consider it better to lobby for more tolerant attitudes within society rather than simply pressure their children into blind conformity.
Also, they often view adults who don't want to be "cured" as people who shouldn't have had a diagnosis and that their situation is quite alot different from non-verbal and aggressive LFAs.

Well, in a lot of ways, their situation is different. But, I don't think "cures" should be forced upon anyone wherever they are in the autistic spectrum.
