-Forgetting, forgotten
the brain may be rotten
eleven moments of misery and a smile I now have.
-Released and renewed
I seek out new food
a bowl of refried brains but my head still looks the same.
-Sometimes we cry and sometimes we scream
tormented by the reality of this, our waking dream
-An excuse and a favor I've traded for a lie,
but now I walk the road that surely leads me home.
-Simple but sad he knows the peace he once had
before his soul was worn away and his spirit sent into hiding.
-But somethings different, something strange,
they replaced his eyes though they may look the same,
he sees with a seeing he knew not even as sight once before.
-He knows with a knowing he could not have known,
A blessing? or a Curse? it seems the last is the first,
and the lost ones found a way to map the path that he forgot.
. . . Now if I can only remember where I parked the car.
