I really think they may have misheard or misunderstood.
My theory:
They meant the "mood" abscout was projecting was contagious?
One of the issues neurotypicals have 
is that they empathize with what they perceive to be (I often wonder how accurate these perceptions are - insufficient data for that) the emotions of those surrounding them. I am guessing that whatever they perceived abscout's mood to be was something that they did not feel was appropriate to a wedding reception.
In short, they didn't want abscout wrecking the party with a "bad mood"

If someone said I was contagious I'd probably laugh at them and say "are you serious?" That was funny when I read it, but unfortunate for you that they thought that. That's like saying adhd is contagious or something. Wow.
This isn't just ridiculous, it's shocking. And no way should your parents have agreed to this stupid plan. You or they need to send some decent info about your AS to these people. We have a responsibility to educate where we can, or at least to make the attempt.
