I need your opinion on this controversial piece: http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/52574680/

Do you think I'm being too hard on Autism Speaks? Sad
I enjoy seeing some controversial stuff, but if it is too much people might consider us unserious.
I guess it could give neutral people the impression that were extremists. I think that we should use the word genocide less (if at all).

I'd agree there.

I liked it.

However I think most won't think about it, and will just react with revulsion to the image of hitler.

People have so over-used the Hitler comparison that it has lost its impact. If someone gets a parking ticket they compare the meter maid to Hitler. I don't think anyone is shocked by it any more.
I FAVORITED IT CAUSE I LIKE IT!!!!
I can't get at it. I want to see what all the fuss is about.

Thats because I took it off the site.

Why did you do that?
Oh dear, I tried to look for it and it wasn't there. That's a shame.
I don't really know if the picture was a good thing for the autistic rights movement. Probably be best without it.
I didn't get to see it, but from the comments here, it probably was a good idea to take it down. While there are valid parallels between eugenics in the US and Germany in the 20's and 30's and the prenatal tests for autism and Down Syndrome, people see a Hitler/Nazi comparison and are like to think someone is just using hyperbole to associate person/organization X to a very bad thing.

People are so used to seeing attacks such as Bush=Hitler and things like in Seinfeld where the guy was dubbed the "soup nazi", it will probably look more like overblown sensationalism, especially when the subject, Autism Speaks, is something most people think of as a charitable organization.
Nobody can go too far.
