I noticed that to identify other people easier, I sort them into pairs based on their looks, their friendship, their personality, or their interests. Occasionally, I may have a person that is not sorted for some reason.

Sonya - Best friends with Natasha, and shares culture and accent with her.
Natasha - Best friends with Sonya, and shares culture and accent with her.

Alex - Quiet person, though not quite friends with Damien.
Damien - Also a quiet person, though not quite friends with Alex.

Carly - Preppy blonde girl and friends with Alexis.
Alexis - Preppy blond girl (but shorter than Carly) and friends with Carly

Arnika - Dresses gothic and may be the girlfriend of Ariel.
Ariel - Dresses gothic and may be the girlfriend of Arnika. (They might be lesbians, but they're in the closet, so I don't really know for sure)

Artur Kaminski - Wears chain pants and is friends with Wojciech.
Wojciech - Wears chain pants and is friends with Artur.

Max - Short.
Mario - Also short.

Deshawn - Has dark tannish skin and very curly black hair. The fraternal twin of Amber.
Amber - Also has dark tannish skin, but straighter hair. THe fraternal twin of Amber. She's quiet, unlike the talkative and annoying Deshawn.

Zack - NOT SORTED! GASP! He is friends with Joe, but I never put them in a pair because they're not similar enough to each other. I also haven't seen peopel that are extremely similar to Zack yet.

Joe - Not sorted! He's fat, so I haven't seen anyone who looks like him, or has his interests. Zack's too different from him to be sorted in a pair with him, or any of his other friends.

Artur Kurszyna - Not sorted either! He's too unique, stupid and annoying for that. Also, he's a very good liar.

I sort them but use different groupings, usually related to sphere of life:  D's friends, my friends, work, work friends, etc...

I run into problems recognizing people when I see people outside of where I expect them, like running into a work buddy in the park on Saturday.

I use that grouping too, in places where pairing people up won't work.

Like Aryssa. She's a part of a group of three, including Sammy and Marlena.

And Zack. He's in a group with Joe, Abel, Jonathan and somebody else.

The only groups I really remember are the ones I join in occasionally.

I have never done that, I have peopel I like and am comfortable talking to and the opposite of that.

I don't know wether I sort people or not into groups (I don't think I do...). Also Meiloyn, just a crazy guess, but is Carly's surname BREWA by any chance? (I think that's how it's spelt...)

I have a "good bucket" and a "bad bucket" for people, and that's the extent of my sorting.

Any thoughts?

I don't but I do accidentally "link" people that are similar (mistake one for the other). It helps develop a concept of that person more quickly.

I'm probably much like that too.

I sort my acquaintences similar to the way Mick does... Each person comes from a different "realm" in my mind, such as High School Friends Realm, College Realm, Family Realm, Job Realm, etc. The realms are all mutually exclusive except for a couple exceptions (my cousin was a member of the Family Realm but then later became a member of the High School Friends Realm as well). If I see someone I know in the wrong "realm", it makes me uneasy. For example, one time when I was at work a friend came to visit me (and therefore entered the Job Realm), and it kind of freaked me out.

I also sort people a lot by their physical characteristics. eg. if I am trying to describe to someone a person I saw on the bus, I might say something such as "he was about 35, had straight brown hair down to his collar, balding a little bit in front, was wearing a blue checked shirt and blue jeans and white sneakers and oh, he also had a brown moustache and was of medium build".
