7-year sentence for man who lured autistic girl for sex

EDMONTON - An Edmonton man who had sex with a 13-year-old autistic girl was sentenced to seven years in prison Wednesday.
Brian Scott Deck pleaded guilty to six counts, including sexual interference and luring a child on the internet.
Judge's remarks
Deck, who went by the internet name 'edmontonpervert', met the girl in an internet chat room.
The court heard that they agreed to meet in person and had sex. They met again the next day, again having sex.
The judge gave Deck double credit for the 11 months he's already spent in jail, and six months for the guilty plea. That means Deck has 4.5 years left in the sentence.
He called the case repulsive and repugnant.
Crown prosecutor Stephen Bilodeau says he was looking for a strong message from the court.
"The victim was particularly vulnerable, and the accused knew it," Bilodeau said. "The accused knew she was 13, he spent time with her, he had sex with her, more than once. I mean, in a sense, it's sort of the worst-case scenario."
