Causes and etiology of autism remains a mystery for me.

I am feeling fooled by this so called researchers.

Give they us the truth?

Have we been patient enough?

We have got some people on here who are very good at chemistry and biology. I'm pretty sure they could do research into the question. And of course many scientists are Aspies--the logical mind makes a good scientist.

I think the answer will be a combination of factors. Genetics, certainly (why else would four of five of my family members have autistic traits, and two have diagnosable Asperger's?); but there could be environmental factors, especially before birth and during early infancy, which determine how the brain wires together, which connections are strengthened and which get pruned. And of course there are all those comorbids we're so prone to--there have to be answers for those.
