I hope this is a suitable forum. If not, you can move it.

I've created this thread because I am unhappy to see a friend of mine, Matt, so unhappy. He's twenty-four, and he hasn't experienced a relationship yet. He said he'd like somebody who understands him, so I chose this forum. He and I are dyspraxic. Dyspraxia has similarities with Asperger's, and I'm getting my Asperger's assessment in two weeks. As for Matt, he hasn't mentioned whether he thinks he has Asperger's.

I don't know how many women post here, but I am hoping you don't get the wrong idea. I'm not wanting anyone to jump right into a relationship immediately. Just, get to know him a bit. Even if you never feel that way about him, I'm sure he could do with a good friend. Oh, I forgot to mention he's from England. The south-east... Hertfordshire, to be precise. I hope this doesn't sound like he's desperate too. I've created this thread without telling him. Wink

Matt likes reading, watching sport, TV, films, talking online. He's a very intelligent guy. Great with maths, unlike me. Sad He dislikes playing sports (don't all dyspraxics?), rap music, and when I asked him, he couldn't think of anything else.

So, I thought this was worth a try. I haven't said much about Matt, but any girls can add me on Messenger and I'll say a bit more about him. (My address: shauncollier06@googlemail.com - alternatively you can e-mail the same address). Then I'll give you his e-mail. I thought there was a dating service for people with differences somewhere around here but I couldn't find it.

Thanks for reading. Smile I hope that someone will be at least a friend to Matt.
I wonder if Matt really wants a girlfriend, maybe he thinks it is too risky. Anyway, you might also post at Wrongplanet which I think is a bigger forum with alot of aspies.
But do be careful with Wrongplanet as I think there are some trolls on there and some people with serious relationship issues.
Heh. Like we don't get people like that, too! Atomkipsycho, anyone? Smile
Ah yes, AFF has its fair share of mentals too..

I'm just crazy in the fun "uncle you shouldn't listen to" way Tongue

Thanks for your replies. Maybe Matt does have to sort this out himself. I feel bad posting here though, because AS isn't confirmed for me yet. My assessment is in a week and two days, I think. It's been a long wait. I'm so nervous. Sad

I'll happily join this site if I do end up getting a diagnosis. Seems like a cool community. Lots of Final Fantasy fans too!
A lot of members here either aren't confirmed, or have confirmed their AS themselves lol.

I quit going over there because there are a lot of spammers on that site in general.

It's a shame because there are also lots of nice people but I just don't have time to wade through all the guff to get to the good posts.
