Hello everybody!
I am a 24 year old exchange student from Freiburg in Germany, and study now here at the East London University for one semester.
Since I consider myself to have some 'traits' of Asperger, I am very interested in the subject 'Autism'.
I now am taking a course in Anthropology about the mentioned 'Cultures of Dominance and Cultures of Resistance'. And for this course, I am going to do a project about ‘autistic culture’.
I would like to base my project not only on books, but on real people and their experiences with growing up and living in our society. For this reason, I would like to do some interviews with different people being somewhere in the autistic spectrum. I would like to use this platform here to ask whether somebody would be interested to take part in this project by having an interview with me. It was nice, if you then could tell me more about AFF, but this is definitely no must!
In this interview, I would mainly just listen to your experiences, impressions and thoughts, and ask only very few questions in order to get a better understanding of a special topic. You could stop the interview at any time, not answer a question if you feel uncomfortable about it or just would rather not, and above all get the chance to point out your view of the issue. You could take a break at any time you’d wish to do so, and you would choose, where (in London!
) and when the interview would take place. It would take approximately between 20 min and an hour. If you have any questions about this project or myself (or just would like me to explain something better, because English is not my mother tongue and thus my language is not very exact), I would be happy to answer them.
Just write to maxvogelmann@gmx.de, or use the message service here, or post it.
When the essay will be finished, I would be glad to hand it to you to discuss it!
Since I am a poor student (true cliché), I can offer you as a reward nothing more then the chance to express your point of view on the experience of living and /or growing up in our society. If you like, I can bring cookies!
Thank You!
