All we hear about is how Odgren was such a bully, was HE terrorized before the event? If so, then the school should have done something about it. I've played GTA and The Godfather, which include almost infinite manners of killing, but if I was attacked, I would be the least likely to fight back (needless to say that I would never even want to start a fight). I'm starting to think that his behavior might be the aftermath of something that happened prior to the event, but we don't seem to hear much about it...

This would be a very bad idea for the attorney; he could lose the case and give us all a bad name (or set back autism criminal rights for a while).
The only thing "bad" from the defense attorney's point of view would be to lose the case, and he could lose the case no matter what defense he chose. Smearing a large group of people in the process would be irrelevant.
That's what the practice of law can boil down to.

And while this case unfolds the prosecution try to paint the defendent as perfectly sane and reasonable and make it so AS is no the cause. This is my beliefe and i'd be in the prosecutions corner if I was in the jury pool.
The defense is paid to get their client off the hook as clean as they can. To us this will mean a scorched earth policy in that the defense would tar and feather AS in the process. I wouldn't put it out of the realm of posibility that they would try to claim an insanity defense if the AS defense doesn't work.
While this case is unfortunate for all involved and those within the autistic spectrum we can only watch and see how this plays out and hope for the best. Odgren does have AS but despite that my beliefe is that AS had no part in this murder and in any event Odgren does not represent myself or others with AS. The media, despite what is true and whether they know it, will paint Odgren as how others with AS act.
Other communities have very heated arguments, as any meeting of intelligent, idiosyncratic minds will, but they rarely if ever degenerate into the kind of obnoxious superiority I see so often on Aspie forums.
