News and Media section is the best for this even though it is ADHD.
I think this also raises the question, is parents with such children too isolated ADHD and/or autism communities?

I suspect many of the parents simply don't want to understand or connect with a community with common issues where this sort of thing is concerned. They just want the "problem" to go away.
What offends me is that they see it as a problem.
Hard to tell from the story, but it might be quite possible that this was simply an NT liitle girl with selfish, impatient parents.

IMO, there is no way in hell, that any child of that age should be prescribed clonidine, no wonder it calms them down, **** stupified is more like, it acts as an alpha-2 adrenoreceptor antagonist, preventing the release of noradrenaline, and its pretty potent to boot, dosages being in the low-microgram range per tablet (25mcg being the lowest)
I used to abuse the stuff myself with opiates, and at 20yo, it sure didn't take much, to go from mellowed out, to unable to move, don't pass reality, don't collect £200 on the way.
Kids on this stuff? unless the child in question, has a blood pressure disorder, and there is some good reason that beta blockers can't be used, really not much of a good idea.

My daughter was prescribed clonidine at age 3, three times a day and was on Rit. and for ahile Mellarill. Which I refused to give to her after she was freaking about seeing spiders everywhere.
My daughter had a sleep disorder and without it would not sleep for days on end. It was awful.
It seems to me in this story, the bus driver and the school should have reported all this earlier. It seems to me alot of people didnt want to get involved and I hold responsible in way. When a child needs help walking there is something very wrong. I would have been on the phone before the bell rang. I ran a daycare for 8 years and speciallized in disabled children. No child would have been that medicated in my pressence.
Sorry, the death of a child gets me all reved up.

I thought clonidine was only supposed to be prescribed for adults???
