Hey, which engineering job do you think is best for people with Asperger's syndrome?
It's not so much the particualt engineering job that will make the difference, but the workplace, IMO.

What you DON'T want an aspie in is a job where they have to explain their engineering choices to non technical people.

Except, of course, Aspies are not all the same. I am actually quite good at that particular role yet have entirely different social difficulties.

Yes. I over generalized. In more than the way you just pointed out. Not are all ASPIEs are alike, but of course NT's vary quite a bit as well.
Plenty of NT's can handle a very pedantic lecture about trivial engineering details, and even take it all in. However, I thnk that for many of them, it's a tiresome chore to do so.

When you say you are good at that role, how do you mean? Do you mean that you are good at conveying the information, or do you mean you are good at conveyeing the information the way the receivers of such want it conveyed to them?

Do you believe this comes naturally or do you need to work more than you think most people would?
