there isnt enough of us in any given area.

"She's in the party of meddling and nannyism"

Although I disagree with her on this stance and many others, and hope she is not the Democratic candidate, it's absurd to join clowns like Rush Limbaugh in calling the democrats "the party of meddling and nanyism" -- the GOP meddles on every level from reading our e-mail and stealing our phone records to international war-mongering and military imperialism. And they are the ultimate nannies -- but not for citizens. Their primary goal is to be nannies for the corporatocracy -- throwing billions at them while letting the poor and disabled in America starve. It is the job of the government to serve the people -- not to serve the thieving corporations who bribe them.

I think anyone who uses terms like "Dumbocraps" has said all that needs to be said about himself. People can read your posts and draw their own conclusions.

Protesting won't do anybody any good anyway. Sure, the media coverage  might raise some awarenss, but promoting positive ideas is ultimately a far more effective means of persuasion than protesting against negative ideas.

For instance, the vast majority of the American people do not realize that many autistics can communicate quite well via the written word. They think that someone who doesn't talk doesn't think, either.

Let them know that this is not true by writing letters to the editors of newspapers and magazines that publish articles portraying autism as an "epidemic" and/or "disease" that must be "cured."

I am a somewhat neurotypical mother of two autistic children and I love and accept them just the way they are. I'm not one of those "curebie" parents who wants to make my autistic children "normal," for if they were made "normal" they would not be them any more.

I am outraged when the "Autism Speaks" (an organization that doesn't have any actual autistics "speaking" for it) crowd appears on television, with teary-eyed parents desperate for a "cure" because they cannot accept their own children as they are.

I especially resent the suggestion that my sweet and beautiful son and daughter are defective and/or diseased when they are just different.

Please know that I am not alone in these sentiments, there are many of us out here who understand -- and we won't be supporting Mrs. Clinton, either.

er..thanks?
(nice to see a positive reaction from a parent,my mothers a curebie and hates it when i display my AS)

"I think Hillary's way too leftist to make a good Democratic candidate. She'll lose the centrist vote."

The centerists are the only ones who are supporting her. Authentic leftists want nothing to do with her. Leftists will hold their noses and vote for her if she gets the nomination, but we all hope she doesn't.
who the independent/liberist candite?
There is no actual "left" in American politics. There are a few liberal senators and congresspeople -- Russ Feingold, Barbara Lee, Waxman -- but they have no power in the party.  America is fairly split between the centerists who are usually Democrats and the right wing who are Republicans. The Republicans are a mix of theocrats, corporatists and assorted bigots. Their interests are not the same, but the Republicans have done a great job of convincing all three that their causes will be supported. In reality, only plutocrats are well served by the republicans.

Because of the way the system is set up in the US, a third party has no chance of winning any major races. They only take votes away from one of the major parties and toss the race to the other. That's my point about attacking the Democrats -- all it can do is assure Republican victory. There is no third alternative.

The sad reality that is raised by Hillary's "Cure the Aspies" nod is that NO politician in America would dare disagree. I'm sure the center and even left of American politics are firmly Curebie in orientation, and if anyone varies from that the Curebie stance would be some extremists on the Right who would go for extermination of all people who vary from the absolute model of Sociopolitical Acceptability.

The AS population is not a large enough voting block -- or $$$ source -- for either party to really care about. That's how it work$, and welcome to America. Sad
Sad  this stinks.

Hum, the USA is one of the most influential countries in the world, and so in this case, I am unhappy that I do not live there.. and to have the chance to vote AGAINST her.

But I guess sooner or later I will get my chance in Germany anyways...

Dogbrain, you are showing more "dog" than "brain" when you attack people so ignorantly... with all your name-calling and flaming,  I suspect Doggie has rabies.

You need to stop it. Bad Doggie!
