I have found all internet message boards have bullies.  We even had some idiots on here.  NT's think it is a game.

Well, I think it could have been worded a lot more nicely and threats of legal action seem quite inappropriate.

Okay, but shouldn't people get 3 warnings before threats of legal action?

I meant there have been some idiots on this forum  (mostly they were banned) not on THIS THREAD.

So, is John Best this "Fore Sam" that Timelord keeps talking about? I'm a bit confused about something though. What kind of treatment is he using on his son? Is it ABA?  

The trouble with threatening legal action is it something that many people fear because even if you're found to be in the right, it is incredibly expensive. It's nearly always better to sort things out between each other than resort to calling in the lawyers and courts.

There is also the possibility of becoming a "vexatious litigant", something which I have seen on the current affairs shows on occasion. Usually, it's some twit who cannot tolerate their neighbours having any different ideas about fences, hedges, trees etc than them.

Yes, and the skirmishes here have been light compared to some that have occurred in Wrongplanet. Sadly, a very good friend of mine was involved in some very nasty ones and I cannot explain why he would have said what he did as in real life he is a lovely person.

I don't know, and even I am a lot more outspoken on the forums than in real life where it is possible for me to go for a whole day and not talk to anybody.

Good thing to be anonymous ---to a point.

People do feel some responsibility to report that a child might be in danger or that someone might kill themselves... to report their suspicions to the authorities.  It is up to the authorities to investigate and take action.  It might be motivated out of revenge but then it could be a concern of importance.

What we don't need here is people posting up others private business and taking sides.  This happened on another forum that I used to use and it destroyed the whole community.  One person was always posting up personal business.. it was not a support forum but people are welcome to read or comment or ignore on such threads if they wished.  Someone came on claiming to be that someone's spouse and said that they had been in a serious accident.  Then some other person came on claiming it was all a hoax to get attention since they had called hospitals, the police, this person's home etc to find out about the accident.  The person came back on and tried to clear it all up but the damage was already done.  I was already suspicious since the accuser had claimed that they could do a certain image search when it is impossible.  People were sending this person terrible emails, calling and threatening them if they ever met them. etc.  

We have already had people trying to destroy this forum the same way.  -- altering their posts and sending people scripts of chat etc.

That's it, I'm so tired of this. 'sigh'

Lienda. With all due respect, you are not aware of most of the history and details behind this argument. The PM you received from Timelord is the tip of the ice berg. There is a lot you don't know.
If you knew the full story you would not be 'sighing'. You would probably be just as indignant as those of us involved. Maybe even more.

OK Lienda, you consider "with all due respect" to be very rude. I can see how this could be taken at it's worst as "patronizing", but not in this context I was using it. If you have misunderstood my meaning then I sincerely apologise.

If you truly believe "with all due respect" was very rude in the manner I addressed you, then that is your problem not mine.

And how you can accuse me of me telling you what you know or what to think, after saying this yourself?

You dictate to others, and in the next breath accuse and object to the very thing you have a habit of doing yourself?

I didn't infer or think of you as an idiot for one second, but you have certainly proved yourself to be a hypocrite.
