Sunday Prime time. First they have a Speaks commercial with comparisons to children dying in car accidents. Then on The Winner, a character in a video store calls another Captain Autism because he's rocking and knows the names of all the movies. What message are they sending here?
The crap that Fox puts out is always astoundingly idiotic. I would say more but I think I'd go too far, and offend people.
You don't have to take offence, stereotypes can be funny.
I didn't think the "captain autism" crack was all that offensive--it's just the Rainman stereotype again (and besides, some of us DO rock and memorize movie titles). But the Autism Speaks commercial makes me want to give them a piece of my mind. I'd want to give them a piece of my fist instead, but I'm too clumsy to connect!
Yeah, The Winner is a great show. It's just contradictory though.
It's a new buzzword thing they've got going now.

This radio show I absolutely love made a joke about the link between the number of autistics and the number of registered Republicans in a segment they call News From The Future. "...Couldn't be reached for a comment, because he was too busy waving his hands in front of his face"  XD

If they're saying it's bad and al autistics are retards, then it's obviously bad. It seems they were just saying he seems autistic because of his actions.
