I'm just wondering, anyone in Massachusetts feel like starting a chapter with me?
Hey, we were asking in the meeting last night if anyone was from Massachusetts, as the Judge Rotenberg Center is situated there.
If there is anyone else from MA it would great to have an offline group there, and can help with the JRC campaign too.
Unfortunately it seems there are few AFF members in the states, is there any way we could try to recruit more in the US?

*edit*
come to think of it, I wonder if I might try to form a chapter here at my high school?  I can try putting up posters (if the admins dont stop me) aimed at recruiting any autistic/aspie students who want to join a group.  Are there any upcomign events that deserve to have a monkey wrench thrown in the works?  I think I coudl put together maybe 4 or 5 protesters just by poster recruiting.
Our school is funny. I can't put up posters but I can carry one around. I can't *wear* a button, but I can have it on my bookbag. I can't have an armband (Excuse me, haven't you heard of the Tinker case?!) but I can have a 'bracelet' of the same thing. Gah, so stupid...
There are various walks arranged by CAN and NAAR, but they release the dates quite late.
Try and set up a group if you can, and we will look out for events near your area.
I already know one.

Next Saturday (22) the AANE is holding a talk in a nearby city, I'll try and represent AFF there. They will be holding a seminar called Sorting out the Mess.

Thats great, we have leaflets that can be downloaded and printed off, if they allow you to hand them out, or you could show them around.

I live west of the river.  So it's unlikely that I'd be able to get out east for any meetings, (where I'm assuming you guys live, like almost 7/8 of the population) even after I'm 18.

Of course, there are so many Aspies in the Amherst Area it would be not implausible to start a seperate group in Western Mass.  The main issue is that most I know are either apolitical, or political only to the point where they really like the Democratic Party and will rant on it.  Nobody else I can think of who'd be potential member.
I live in Boston.  Please include me in.
I wish AANE had events in locations and hours where/when I could actually get to them, given my dependence on public transportation, and my work schedule. arg.

Are there any other groups in the Boston area? (that's the other annoying thing about AANE-- they're not actually based in Boston, so half their events are in Watertown, which I can't get to at all)  I keep thinking there must be more...  I just don't know how to find them.  So I go to coin shows instead. It's pretty much the same thing ; )
I live in southern NH as well... I find that most meetings have too little to do with adults... or they are platforms for some speaker to sell their wares...

If anything comes out any different, please post...thanks...
