Done a lot of thinking over the past few days (in otherwords, been doing what I always do anyway) and I have decided this:
I support research to find a cure. I can't in good concience do nothing for all the poor suffering NT's out there. They are going through life blind and don't even know it.
Not to mention all the problems and strife their dishonsesty, etc cause, even if it's not their fault. (I *know* they can't help it, their brains are just wired that way...)
We *must* help them. I believe with enough research, we can find a way to make them all normal, like us <g>
Well, I'm sure this joke is in pure taste, especially to the amount of people that are borderline on this forum.
Hmmmm... Borderline...
WHat context do you mean that in? You mean on the border between being an aspie and an NT? Or do you mean having borderline personality disorder, which is something quite different?
I am assuming you mean the first? That could be something quite nebulous. For instance, in real life i'd bet most of you would see me that way - I (think anyway) that I am quite HF in reall life. Of course I manage this similar to the way one might program a computer - and in effect I have "the 'case of stament from hell'" in my head as a checklist of responses for various situations.
On that note, judging by the response to that thread, that "case of" statement needs a bit of adjusting...
(ghetto edit) poor taste.
i quite agree with ian.just beacuase nts {and not all of them either} want a cure for autism deosnt me mean we should be that hipocritial. i say support acceptance, all have a right to be.[/size=medium]
Oops. Sorry. This was intended as a sick joke to blow off some steam.
I incorrectly assumed you would all get it.
MY GOD, I would NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER in real life advocate this, no matter how frustrated I get.
This was intended equally to poke fun at my own frustration as well as to poke fun at NT's views of thos in the autistic spectrum.
Neurotypical Disorder affects 164 out of 165 people. They could "cure" that and make some
real money.

hehehe...some of those at the more extreme end of the NT spectrum might not see any ethical issue with that.
Sorry - sick humor again, not meaning to "*** on anyone from a great height".
I need to start off by saying that i do understand that these are almost all jokes
That being said, i detect a strong undercurrent of frustration and anger directed towards the NT's. I think that a lot of people on this forum need to get rid of that. It seems as if one of the things people here don't like about "NT's" is that they're generalizing a lot when it comes to people with any kind of disorder. What i see here is a repetition on our part of the same thing.
We all need to realize that everyone are individuals, and just because those people you know and who are close to you all seem to view AS as a disease and bully everyone they see as different, that doesn't mean the other NT's do.
Also, aspies are not better than NT's in ANY way! We're just different! Our perceived "superiority" comes from a tendency to analyze things logically and to be quite obsessed with one thing alone, giving us tremendous skills IN THAT PARTICULAR AREA. I get really frustrated when i hear people saying stuff like "an aspie would have the sense not to do drugs/drink alcohol" or anything else that glorifies aspies, we're not better, just different. Remember that
"Not better, just different" as a generalization makes no sense to me. The word "better" itself means nothing without context. Better how? What's a "better" tool? A hammer or a saw? Depends on what you want to do with it.
The whole concept of better is annoying. I'd like to propose that it be abolished. "Suitable" might be a better word to start using, since most people get that it is a context sensitive word. You almost never hear it used without context. You DO hear the word "better" used without context as a generalization.

I'd hate that ><
The world would get pretty messed up rather quickly.
I CRACKED UP at the original post. If everyone was able to take a joke and laugh at themselves the wrold would be a much better place.
BTW as an aspie the only humor that I really like is the extremly sick politically incorrect humor.
