Good point. Maybe that was the problem. I didn't realize there was a difference between sterilization and hysterectomies. She probably didn't either, and the doctors maybe didn't want to go that far. Also, it was 6 or 7 years ago. There might even be better meds now, but it's also risky to even try changing her meds.
Another issue is the physical one. What effect will a hysterectomy have on a woman, physically. You can't just rip a person's organs out without negative effects. And it they take the ovaries too, the endocrine circuit, which relies on a feedback loop system, is broken. That is serious. A hysterectomy should only be performed as an absolute last resort on a woman who has a serious health risk and all other options have been explored/tried. To say, 'Well, she won't want children anyway,' is disgusting/horrifying in so many ways, including the one I mention here.
