Yellow Submarine. That's my favorite feel-good movie. That and the animation is way cool.
I always loved watching Good Will Hunting, Vanilla Sky, The Royal Tenenbaums and I am Sam.
I LOVE "Local Hero" its such a nice film.
Any movie with Robin Williams in it.. My son ( great mimic that he is) says" hey mom, I do Robin Williams better than Robin Williams" :)
I must admit that I have seen Jesus Christ Superstar about 14 times, mostly because of the music :)
Bio-Dome is one film that always makes me crack up!!

"Free mahi-mahi, free mahi-mahi!"
"Shave poochy-poochy, shave poochy-poochy!"
Well... Robin Williams has already been mentioned... His "Patch Adams" was one of my favorites...

Try:

"What's eating Gilbert Grape"

See I've mentioned this before to several folks, on different forums, that in childhood I would unconsciously (without trying) begin to sound exactly like someone I spent a day with or so, most often my best friend.  My voice would become exactly like his and I hadn't even intended it.  Someone would have to tell me I was doing it.

The funny thing is, people haven't agreed with me that imitation is an Aspie trait/mannerism.  I think it is.  We're known to be good mimics, otherwise how else can we "fill in" what we lack in social intuition?

WOW.  I do the same exact thing.  I take on the mannerisms of the people I'm speaking to, and their vocal tones/speech patterns.  I don't really intentionally do it, but yeah, it just happens.  It's actually bothered me in the past (once i DID realize I was doing it) because it made me wonder if I wasn't being myself.  So I consciously have avoided doing so in other situations- but I do catch myself reverting back to this at times.  Strange.  I've never heard of anyone else having this tendency before, makes me feel a little better about it!

What's eating Gilbert Grape is a great movie! The only thing that stops me from going out and buying it is that I don't really like... whats-her-face... Damn!

Juliette Lewis? Try this link: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0108550/

Another good one:   "10 items or less"

Morgan Freeman and Paz Vega
Donnie Darko.  Sneakers.  Dr. Strangelove ("we'll meet again...some sunny day....")
A very simple question, but one that is very difficult for me answer because I don't view films as a form of escapism. I cherish cinema greatly, but more so as a work of art rather than for entertainment value. Filmgoing is a very enjoyable activity for me. However, individual films rarely make me feel good in a conventional sense.

If I had to choose I would go with documentaries that portray a lifestyle hat I find fulfilling in some way. Films such as Rivers and Tides (2001) and Into Great Silence (2005) comes to mind.
A feel-good movie for me is any movie in which the geek or social outcast is the guy who saves the day and/or gets the girl, such as Revenge of the Nerds, Punch Drunk Love, Red Planet, and The Day After Tomorrow.

I also like old-school movies with robots or elaborately technical props, such as Honey I Shrunk the Kids, Short Circuit, Batteries Not Included, and all three Back to the Future's.
