Actually I am sick of people giving me advice like that.
I am a NT mom with ADHD and my son was diagnosed when he was 3yo with autism and when it happened all the therapist, psychologists etc...were telling me that my son was never gonna do this or that(the list went on and on). He loved to bang his head on anything and everything. He had a very limited diet and I started to look at what he was drinking and eating. I noticed he was drinking up to 14 glasses a day of milk. I did some research and I ended up taking him off of regular milk and put him on rice milk. Once he was off the regular milk I noticed that he wasn't trying to hurt him self or bang his head anymore. I don't believe in any of the diet stuff either but from my experience I think people can have a food allergy, or intolerance. It was like the milk was a drug and he craved it. My son is still autistic but he just doesn't bang his head or try to hurt himself anymore. And along with some really great therapist(which are hard to find but are out there) my son has so much self confidence and is happy being a 5yo boy. They are not trying to make him fit the mold that society expects just encouraging and praising on his strengths!! I just thought I would put that out there....
