I listen to Riot grrl, queercore, and political punk...Tribe 8, Team Dresch, Bikini Kill, Anti-Flag, Le Tigre, The Gossip...(not sure if the last two count, they're more electro)...I love them all.
I find anything absurdly over the top extremely amusing metla/punk wise to be extremely amusing. I love anyting that aims to be particularly offensive in particular. I won't embarrass myself by listing anything I like. I think even folks HERE would not understand.
HA! You beautiful mentalcase! I knew you had it in you! I just hope you didn't touch him.... you might need a course of antibiotics.
Oddly, I never had any interest in actually seeing him live. I did see the Murder Junkies at a small cafe/club down the street from where I used to live.
But in any case, I don't think I need the anitbiotics.
Black Flag - Earlier stuff (pre-henry, although Damaged is good). I like the stuff after Henry took over vocals, but at that point they became a completely different band. ALMOST saw them live once, but cops broke up the show before they went on. Gregg Ginn is almost DEFINTELY ASPIE in my opinion. He would make eye contact with no one, would turn away or walk away when anyone approached him, and would only speak with Henry. He looked as if he was desperately trying to block it all out. His side project band "GONE" was the first set that night, and when he played... Completely focused - totally unaware of his surroundings.
Circle Jerks - Earlier stuff was almost a continuation fo Flag after Keith left.
Meatmen - they crack me up.
Fear - they also crack me up.
Germs - especially really badly done stuff where Darby sounds completely trashed.
Dead kennedy's - Fresh Fruit and Plasric Surgery were great. Went downhill after that. Frankenchrist sucked. I *DID* have some fun sneaking into my HS early one morning, with a girl who was also a fan, with a step ladder, putting up the Geiger fold out poster nice and high in the stairwell, so it would be a while before it could be taken down. Everyone knew who had done it, but no one could PROVE anything.
of all time? Neurosis.
Currently I really like Turbonegro and Horse the band, however.
PS, For the record, GG died offstage in 1993
In an apt on avenue B. July 28th, If I recall.
