About the prod: It's called a CATTLE PROD for heaven's sake! Cattle are big animals. A 48 year old man is not a cow. And if they've been doing this for years it's even worse, he was a child then.

Surely there is a better method. If his head banging is causing a medical problem, fine. Go ahead and stop him. But what makes these people think that a high-voltage shock is the right way?
Just because it works doesn't mean another method can't either, maybe even better.
