Lately me and some of my real world friends have been playing oGame, which is sort of like an online version of the old Masters of Orion 4x gaming genre.

http://ogame.org/

In that kind of game you colonise worlds, build up the colony's infrastructures and manufacturing, research new technologies, build fleets and carve out your own little galactic empire by force or by trade, while hopefully managing diplomacy with friends and foe to keep yourself on top. At early stages things take place over matter of minutes but later on actions can take hours to execute so it doesn't tend to reward time spent sat at the keyboard grinding but rather long term decisive actions.

Given the nature of the game, I figured that it'd be a natural choice for folks on the spectrum seeing how it rewards tactical, patient, logical thinking over twitch reflexes and angry onslaughts like most online games.

Anyway, if any of you guys decide to try it out, sign up for Universe 22, which is where me and my friends play, and either send a mesage to Ryuujin or go to the "Alliance" page and send a request to join Pwn3d, or just post your galaxy/sector/planet in this thread, and we can hook up. (And I might be able to send some resources to kickstart your empire)

If enough people get intrested I think we should form an all-spectrum Alliance and show the Universe who owns their *** ^-^
Nope, completely free, couple of google ads on most their pages, but no popups or anything remotely intrusive.

People can pay for two "add on" things, Commander, which gives an improved interface but no actual advantage of note, and Officers - officers is a lot more controvertial in that it does give players a very small advantage (such as faster research or slightly higher production output), but the advantages are marginal in the long run and still give no advantage in combat situations which is where it really counts.
I posted a topic on the forum to see if we find any more that way:

Might be that we'll end up moving to another universe and starting over depending how many we get, which'll be fine really, start a fresh Aspie civilisation from the ground up ^-^

Is this game complicated to learn? I am interested.

I suppose compared to most HTML based games it is kinda complex, but compared to the games like Master of Orion it draws from it's greatly simplified.

There's plenty of useful spots to help you get started:

Check the material requirementson the building screen =p

A shipyard needs a small amount of Deuterium, which you don't have by default. I'd focus on getting your mines up for now so you can produce resources. You won't be able to afford ships anyway yet nor have the appropriate research to build anything but solar satellites. I'll send you some resources to help you get started, what's your username in ogame?
Oh, sorry, the Shipyard needs access to at least a level 2 robotics factory anyway - if you look on the "Technology" screen it tells you what requirements you must meet to be able to produce or research specific projects.
Well, if you want - I think the start might be a bit discouragingly overkill on this game as you start off with enough materials to make a few mines and then you need wait a couple days before you have the materials to kick it up a gear, and it'd be a week or more before you can really start proper because they don't eve give you any deuterium (Which is probably the single most essential resource in the long run, and also hardest to make)
Now I am allied!
... Or I have at least accepted some sort of request.
I am very sceptical to any type of subscribtion, haven't bought the Geologist.
The numbers I've heard suggests that there's alot of aspies in this world, about 1 in 166 might of the world's population. And many of these sit constantly infront of computers, I think many of the other alliances consist of a large portion of aspies.
Aspies for Deuterium

The Conquering Aspies

The Aspie Pirates

Or does it have to be a single word?
The last 2 new universes on .org are so busy though people can't even have a full compliment of 9 planets because they're packed in like sardines - forget picking planets slots for size or quality, people just have to grab what they can XD. Uni 30 will go the same way.

At any rate it's just us 3 from AFF. I posted a topic asking on the forums but the moderator closed it and told me if I wanted to form an all Aspie alliance I'd have to advertise on just a single universe's Alliance Advertising page - and you KNOW how tiny the chances of anyone seeing us there is.
Well you've had a heck of a lot more luck than me so far finding people =p
I think the master plan is we'll all start over in Universe 30 once it's up and running and form a large alliance there, we already have like 7 or 8 people intrested now.

In the meantime, it;d be a good idea to cut your teeth in Universe 22
