Pdocs freak me out! I've been through "the system" and count myself lucky for getting out and as far away from it as I can. All the docs want to do is drug you up on antidepressants and accept the idea that you are an unstable volcano that needs it's meds to be "normal"- bah! AS or not, "normal" is what you are, free from drugs and "crazy" lables.

I agree that BPD is a "catch-all" diagnosis - it's a symptom of mental health issues, for sure, but it is no more valid as a diagnosis to explain the problem than "high blood pressure" or "fever" is. I heard once, "BPD is the natural defense to a dysfunctional emotional environment" - many Aspies/Auties inadvertently grow up in a "dysfunctional emotional environment" by constantly trying to force their interactions with NTs.

Avoid mental health professionals and seek advice from naturopathic doctors - gotta be careful as some of them are quacky in their own way, but at least they focus on things like diet and exercise, instead of pumping your brain full of toxic chemicals.  If you think you are AS, accept it internally as a label if it helps you cope... I can you can find some peace in relating to the posts on this board and others. Otherwise, try to surround yourself with more like-minded individuals, and avoid life stressors (including people who make you feel bad about yourself).
