Does anyone have the statistics on how many people with autism are in prison?

Just because there may be many aspies in prison or who may have commited crimes doesn't justify continued discrimination against us. There are lots of blacks and Mexicans in prison and yes the innocent members of these minority groups still get discrimanted against. Just because a person is Mexican and there are lots of Mexicans in prison, does that mean this person is automatically a criminal? Should the police be allowed to treat this person differently? Of course not but it does happen.

Well, there are some reasons why AS might predispose a person to being in jail:
--Revenge or self-defense taken too far, resulting in assault or murder
--Doesn't appeal to the jury, the police, or the judge, who get a "weird feeling" about him and subconsciously mark him "guilty"
--Not taught proper sexual conduct; charged with harassment or sexual abuse
--Self-medicating depression with drugs or alcohol, resulting in related crimes
--Manipulated by others to commit a crime
What's depressing about that stuff is that an Aspie is probably also more likely to receive a longer sentence; the judge probably won't like him, unless he's one of the lucky few that come off as "charmingly naive" rather than "that guy has definitely got a screw loose".
