Slice potatoes, sprinkle with (indonesian/yellow) curry powder (aka kerrie), caraway seeds and (indonesian) soy sauce (aka ketjap), bake in a pan with some butter. Garlic, onions and mushrooms are optional too. Mind you, washing the pan after having had soy sauce baking in it is a pain... Tastes good though, although my parents don't believe me (they haven't tried though).

Btw, as to the rice in milk... there's a special type of rice that's supposed to be boiled in milk to make rice pudding... then you add a bit of butter and cinnamon on top. Smile So anyway, that's not a strange combination. As to the fries... with mayonnaise or with peanut/satay sauce... both are normal combinations too in The Netherlands. And yep, I've heard of tons of people who like to dip french fries in milkshakes... I think my husband said he used to do that too. He also likes chocolate milk with blue cheese.
Btw, carraway seeds are good with tons of things... omelettes, pasta sauce, stews, taquitos, etc.
I really love rice topped with blue cheese sprinkled with lemon. Olives make it even better. I don't have it a lot, but I do like it.

And sandwiches with jam and dutch cheese.

My dad liked his yoghurt over his hotmeal (yuk). He stopped doing that as far as I know.
