I touch-type using all my fingers found it quite easy to learn. the home keys f and j usually have a little sticky up bit to help you find them without looking
My first time getting neat writing was Feb 2007 [ 1+ months ago]

I type using all of my fingers, but I don't keep them in a normal position on the keyboard; also, I can type without looking at the keyboard at all (not even through my peripheral vision). I think I have it memorized or something. I don't always do it that way, but it's a useful skill.

I'm exactly the same way. I just sort of know where the keys are, even though my fingers are never in a fixed position. I just need to know where one key is, and then I can figure out the rest.

I'm able to type with both of my hands but I always use my right thumb to hit the space bar.  It's caused me a lot of problems at the public library, some of the computers there are old and only respond when I hit the space bar with my left thumb, which I find it unnatural to do.  I'm just glad that all of the computers at college have good keyboards.

Also, keep my hands stable when I type, I rest my wrists on the desk, which means I'm not able to hit the Backspace button with the correct finger.
It should say "to keep my hands stable when I type", not "keep my hands stable when I type".  We need an edit button.
i touch type, but i dont use the 'home row'.
i use the row just below it.
I use the index finger of each hand. If I try to use more fingers I lose track of what each finger is doing and where each finger is and I end up with a page of gibberish.

I type faster that alot of people who type with all ten fingers.
If I know what I'm writing, I can type without looking at the keyboard and reach a speed of about 75WPM. If I have to refer to a book or article then my typing speed goes down to about 40WPM.
if i know what i am going to type,in advance, then,as Electric said (welcome by the way) i can reach very high speeds.
I use  my middle fingers, aswell as a small fingers occassionally (for caps and stuff)but mainly my middle fingers
Thought it was time to resurrect this one...
I can't use my left hand properly, so I type with my right index finger & use the left index finger for caps, I'm  fairly fast, but need to see the keyboard. I do tend to hit two keys at a time causing gibberish.Rolleyes
i type mostly with my thumbs and index fingers of both hands(i some times get my middle fingers involved, but not often). i can type with out looking at the key board, but i prefer to look at it(its kinda a security blanket sort of thing... )
Interesting, at times I can picture a keyboard in my brain, but not really with the letters in their proper order... however I can "deduce" where every letter on the keyboard is--in my mental picture--by mentally typing on the keyboard.  If I'm looking for where the "j" is, for instance, I'll ask my mind to type the word "Jumanji" for instance and by the time I've typed the second "J" I know precisely where it is.
