Self taught on keyboard and synthesizer - first song I recorded was a cover of Jarre's Oxygene 4.
hey all I play the Drums been playing for 21 years play the flute been playing for over 24 years. Started playing the flute at ten years of age and was in the school band for three years then I was in the high school band for over three years playing the drums and flute. I am now learning how to play the guitar and keyboards when I was in the school band I got to play the Cello abit and the trumpet. Was also in the school choir for two years in primary school. I still play the drums at church playing jazz occasionally and play the conga's too.
I play the piano (my principal instrument), the flute, the treble recorder (along with descant, sopranino and tenor), the 'cello, the piccolo, the drum kit, the alto saxophone, the organ, tuned percussion, the viola and I sing.
Of those, I teach piano and flute. I also have done some conducting.
I play with lots of music groups, because in those groups I feel more comfortable- and the music making is good. I play with brass bands, several choirs, orchestras, jazz groups, recorder consorts and I am a part-time organist.
hehe i play piano, bass, drums, guitar, synths, cello, viola, recorder, koto, flute, general pitched percussion (marimbas, glocks) and sing...i also produce, do beats (including lots of glitchy idm stuff), and arrange and compose for orchestras...im thinking i shud really make a career out of this...haha x
I play the keyboard, piano, a little synthesizer and I like to play guitar, but my Dad hasn't let it fixed, so the snares aren't attached.
I can play guitar (but I don't like it really), my voice counts like an instrument? because I sing, that's what I love, also I'm learning piano and keyboard now.
Big Grin
My name says it all. No, it doesn't! I am also a choir director, a mezzo soprano,  play recorder, used to play guitar.
I play piano,organ/harmonium,flute,guitar,and similar instruments, drums(but not very well),and I love to sing!!!
I like best to sing or play organ.
Baritone Saxophone
Tenor Saxophone
Alto Saxophone
Trumpet (for a while)
I've always wanted to play the organ, I personally think it's a cool sounding instrument.
I've kinda taught myself to play the piano (as in I know what key is what note and i've been able to play tunes by ear)
I play the piano, keyboards, and software synths. I have composed three songs completely on the piano, I am just trying to find out how to record the songs properly.

I am learning to play the bass guitar (since I love what low frequency does to music). So far I have been playing for a year and a half (but I have been playing "seriously" for only the past half year).
I just remembered a quote I said in band class:

"Everything would sound SO MUCH COOLER if it was a lower octave"

Well, I'm more autistic than a aspie, but I'm curretly learning how to play the piano and I know a bit on the guitar. Hope to be learning a lot more instruments soon--- and I am soon going to be taking singing lessons! ^w^

Hey, welcome to AFF! ~ SharpCookies~
Good for you for learning piano, guitar and taking singing lessons.

I am going to teach myself the cello, as suddenly I need to play some unaccompanied Bach. May take a while to learn though.

I play the turkish Saz, turkish Tanbur, kurdish Tanbour, persian Setar, persian Tar, afghani Rebab, uyghur Rawap, indian Sitar, Guitar, indian Harmonium, bulgarian Kaval, turkish Darbuka, and Dobro. Smile

I'm just curious as to what instruments other aspie musicians play.

Although I am not much of a musician, but I have some interesting tidbits about the Setar, and the Tar.

Setar means three strings in Farsi, and Tar means string in Farsi.

Farsi is Iranian Persian (If you are wondering what is Farsi.)

Hell yeah!  I am a PDD-NOS DX musician, keyboardist, and vocalist!  I don't mean to brag, but I have perfect pitch...

I play piano, keyboards, I sing, and I write music for any genre, even though my favorites are jazz, blues, metal, and hard rock.

Welcome guys!

WELCOME to you jman8973!!!
You sound talented.  Smile
Are you in a band?
Have you recorded any of your own music?

My brother composed his own music on an IBM PCjr.  The song was "Road to Logrod", it seemed to follow the lyrics well.
I think he is Asperger, and less functioning than I am (only he is better paid with more job experience).
