The segment was produced by Karen M. Sughrue and presented by Leslie Stahl. The discussion evolved around the question of how early AS/HFA can be diagnosed and some of the hallmarks. A therapist by the name of Sally Rogers was interviewed about her work with a boy named Christian. A person whose name was Ozonoff and who worked at something called the M.I.N.D. Institute was also interviewed in length. The question of "cures" was discussed briefly and the reporter seemed kind of skeptic of the idea of a "cure". Stephen Goodman at Johns Hopkins was interviewed about the "epidemic" and said that he had researched the topic without finding any proof of an "epidemic". Someone said that the reason we're having more and more people that are getting diagnosed with AS/HFA nowadays in contrast to only 10 to 15 years ago is because of the 1994 edition of DSM-IV. In the previous edition there was only diagnostic criteria for "classic autism". Now there are also AS and a whole range of other "conditions".
