so i always heard alot of people complain about the autism symbol, puzzle pieces, and i agree, we are NOT a puzzle to ourselves, and the NTs are equally puzzling to us, so its kind of wrong.

so i thought for a long time, and came up with a symbol, posted it elsewhere online and got many positive responses.

i dont cocnider myself a puzzle peice

a peice is just that, a PEICE to a PUZZLE.
i am a Whole indevidual.
i am NOT a puzzle.

we come off as cold hard machines, so i think " something metal"
we DO have feelings, no wires, we have blood just like them, we are living creatures; so i think "heart"

a key with a heart top.

keys are a mystery to their on lookers
you can not make them fit a place they do not belong
they DO fit somewhere and can be "very useful" to that one place
a key is something special that you dont try to change the shape of it.
often its private
sometimes it get rust sometimes its shiny, silver, copper
they are all different and all fit different locks
if you try to force it into the wrong lock, you just hurt it, it starts to kink

so i think we are keys, we are not a puzzle.

this is a bad example, i cannot do technical art, someone better at graphics should make one :>

Seven,
I really like your key symbol.  It makes a lot of sense, and having always been a fan of symbolism, I like that!  But we already have a positive symbol for autism:  the rainbow infinity sign you see in the AFF logo.

I wonder if the two could be combined?  Maybe a rainbow-colored key with an infinity sign where you put the heart?

That would be a good idea. Smile

i like the idea of a rainbow key, but i dont see how the infinity sign relates to autism any better than a puzzle

The infinity sign goes on forever.  We're hoping that autism will go on forever, and not be 'cured'.

but, once people realize what autism really is, because they are capable of understanding if they honestly try, then there will be no need for that sign, so i think we should keep the two separate and use both

this sign isn't about anti-cure, its about expressing who and what we really are

:> i am glad so many people like a key symbol

i will try to make a better image, or find someone who can

This is the best I can do:

that is Awsome :> very very good and much more usable as the symbol

more proof that autie males are better with graphics while autie females are better with figures.

i have to wonder what that implies about our brains functioning.

i wish i could make one.. btw, really like the keyblade. Smile
i never said males were usually better with math, i said they are usually better with technical art while females are usually better with figure art, they are both types of art, though. "figures" as in human or animal figures. technical art is more related to archatexture and that sort.
I am in agreement with Obsidian regarding the rainbow theme.  That's taken.  There are other ways to make something multi-colored without it looking like the GLBT rainbow.  (Do note, however, there are parallels between that movement and this one.  We can learn from them.)

One way to pull off random colors is to use irridescent material in the making of objects bearing the symbol.  I think it would be impressive because it would look different almost every time you see it, depending on how it catches the light and reflects it to your eyes.  The infinity sign on this website already looks like an attempt to simulate irridescence.  When irridescence is not possible, I'd prefer a single color.
I think puzzle pieces have been stigmatized through use by the pro-cure movement, making puzzle pieces almost as inappropriate as swastikas.  I still like the infinity sign, irridescent or single-colored of course.

Maybe a key with the puzzle pieces in it.  I know the ribbon with puzzle pieces has been largely taken over by the pro-cure movement, but the key would show it as being on the same spectrum but with a different meaning.

Personally, I think the key would be better for those trying to unlock the secrets of curing autism and the ribbon would be better for us, too bad that won't be the case.

i hate the puzzle Becuase i am anti cure. i do Not belive it could logically need curing as it is not logically a disability, we are not broken, infact many scientists beleive we are "evolved" to better match with technology.

i dont think we are a puzzle, a puzzle implies we need to be put together, or taht were only a peice of it, or that we arent even Human to some people. its a very negative symbol in my opinion.

let the curbies keep their puzzle, i will not affiliate a symbol designed by me perosnally with one designed by them.

i do not support the infinty sign, its trapped within itself, while AS seek progession while NTs are trapped in their own ways, its not approriate for us, it fits them better.

the symbol i made is NOT ment to be a political logo, its not anti-cure, its not pro-cure, it has ntohing to do with any groups views on autism at all.

i think the infity sign is already so commonly used its not even a new logo, its been around, just liek the puzzle, its used by people who are anti-cure.

this key is ment to be used by anyone, anywhere, with any views, its justa symbol for autism. simple, just autism, in my mind.

Thank you very much.

It's a .png file with transparency, so you can put it in front of any background

Hey, can we use this key or a variation of it as the logo for a company we are discussing on This Thread?

i dont get it, i mean if you can choose any logo you pick a key?
if it comes down to a puzzle, infinity or a key, i find them all very horrible.

in science infinity is not considered a good thing.
infinitys pop up when your equation is flawed.

a puzzle is just stupid.
i am not something that needs to be solved.
and a key, i found it quite fresh, but still the question is who made the lock.
making a key FIT to a certain lock.
etc.

perhaps i am just being negative
but this is how i feel/think about this.

i am sorry but i  do not have a constructive idea to back up my negativity, i will pounder on this for a while and prolly come back when i have something positive to reply.
