I knew I didn't have AS because I was suspecting it was a misdiagnosis. I had cognitive delay as a child and still do. I act so immature more than an aspie and my boyfriend and I went through the AS criteria and I did not meet the last four. I fit the first parts of it but didn't meet D E and F. I had the speech delay because of my hearing loss but it didn't cause my cognitive delay and self help skills. So we looked at PDD and I fit it perfectly. That explained to my bf why I was so immature to him.
Why did I get diagnose with AS instead of PDD. Did the psychiatrist not know about it or was it because of my hearing, he dropped it from the criteria. I am not an aspie so should stop saying I am and that I have AS because I don't. Now I should go for a correct diagnoses. I feel so releaved about finding out my AS diagnosis was wrong. I suspected I was higher on the spectrum because of my development delay.
There weren't much input about yourself else than the lack of hearing at early age in this post so I am guessing you aren't looking for discussion.

I don't believe i am a aspie either though i am not denying there is something wrong with me just a lot of things not adding up.

Sooo true. And both the diagnoses and the refusals to diagnose are often coming from doctors who just don't want to admit they know very little about AS.

Yeah officially statemented at high school though from what people describe as the test you have to go through i don't remember it i did do one with this bloke but for what i don't know and i passed that one when i was 12/13 then at 14 the only thing it couid have been is a bloke or women accessing me in class is that normal?
