Who here has seen The Who's rock opera Tommy?  If you haven't seen it, you can find the DVD among the musicals.  I'd like to know your opinions of it.

In summary, a traumatic event sends little Tommy Walker into a catatonic state that lasts for years, while his folks try a series of bizarre cure attempts from an assortment of quacks.  The only one who isn't a quack (which I understand is Jack Nicholson's only singing role anywhere) tells them flat-out that he can't help them, and then takes their money.  He eventually comes out of the catatonic state, but not until after he amazes everyone with his pinball talent.  When he finally starts speaking, his popularity gets a little out-of-hand.

I can imagine a bunch of us giving it Rocky Horror style audience participation.
I've seen it. The first seen with the lyric "Tommy can you hear me", made me think of how NTs force us into conversations. Later the part where he faces bullying and abuse is parallel to the problems some aspies face. When he started speaking, however, the similarities ended.

Movie seems to also reminded me of another rock opera, The Wall.
DNEB. The movie also reminds me...
mrt6812 is the Guy you ought to chat up, because he is a fan of The Who...
I posted a parallel to Tommy and AS under my old name, Matt_T, but I have no idea how to find it.  You might want to read that and see if you agree or disagree.
I love Tommy and The Who. I especially relate to Amazing Journey. I am guessing that quite a few aspies/auties do too.
The story I wrote, which I think can be found here under the Art section, the post called "Just a story I wrote" is called "Amazing Journey".  You might like it.
