No doubt there are major differences between NTs and AS. But what about the simmilarities?
One of my favourite books is about personality theory. It is written by "David Keirsey" and is called "Please Understand Me Now II". The Book outlines a personality theory dated back to Plato (The Republic) and other thinkers who developed it over time. In his book, he outlines a very detailed and insightful description of 16 personality types of people. The book is a US bestseller and has helped millions of people - wheather NT or AS - to come to a better understanding of themselves and other people.
The online personality test available at
http://www.keirsey.com was taken by over 2 million people, and various websites like
http://www.personalitypage.com/ elaborate on it.
It told me I'm a Guardian...
Yeah, it claims I am a guardian, too. Sure!
It called me an architect, ??? Thsi thing is wierd.
i retook it and got artisan somethign or other... I kept flipflopping on the questions because of how they were phrased... I dont think much of this test.
The various personality tests are all interesting so long as they help us feel good about ourselves. There is certainly good things about being NT. I dont have many NT bits but i am trying to find them and support them because they help me in this world. They mean i love my family and i hurt if they are hurt. I think my NT bit is quite small but very loud at times. I may be a minority outside in the world but inside my head my NT bit is a rebellious minority group. I think it is connected to the fluctuation/ interaction in chemicals. I am particularly interested in the body as like chemical movie that i watch. i don't think a book can tell you what you are.

think of Venn diagrams to explore AS/NT behaviours, interaction, interests etc. also some concepts in statistics for psychology are useful to describe interaction.
how much interaction, effect of interaction, deviation from the mean...
i like the words: deviation- from the -mean.
can one do three dimensional Venn diagrams that float around and change like big soap bubbles?
i am a deviant bubble contained within a sensible standard bubble that i need to get a little more flexibility from before i can exist without it.
if i am flexible enough i can find and merge with other deviant bubbles.

i came out as "idealist" and it actually describes me 100% hehehe
Its interesting how an idealist can live so hapilly with an aspie partner!
The only similarity between me and neurotypicals is that we are both human.
Similarities like logical thinking and wit are good things to have in common with NT.
I won't do the Kersley test because you have to put your name and e-mail in. I don't like doing that.
I get INTJ apparently that is the profile shared with psychopaths. How flattering is that? One description of my profile said that INTJ tend to become drunk when stressed. That is totally untrue of me. I don't drink at all. I am afraid someone using this test might want to make some ridiculous extrapolation to conclude that I am an alcoholic psychopath serial killer. So FALSE. I am upset.
I got Rational. Interesting... the letters representing Rational are "NT". lol.
So when these tests are being used to select in employment, it that fair?
