Does anybody else have trouble following patterns?

I seem to be better at making up my own although I base the things I knit, crochet, or sew on a basic pattern and then make up my own from there.

I'm currently crocheting little drawstring bags for kids in a school in a disadvantaged (drought stricken) area in Western New South Wales.

What the hell?

M, has your husband said why he doesn't like you to go into chatrooms. I know some chatrooms could have problems but a lot of others must be good.

It doesn't sound like his friends are considering you too well if they're always saying they're busy. True friends aren't "too busy" and if they are really short of time, they'll at least be more polite.

It's a shame your husband couldn't be more understanding too because being told you're saying the "wrong thing" must be very demoralising.

I often don't see what the finished project will look like - it just seems to grow by itself.
