Last I heard, autistic people have no social desires, making them consider writing in an LJ as completely useless. They are completely self centered and the only motivation they have is making discoveries about themselves or about themsleves and the environment. Sharing their thoughts usually never even crosses their mind.

Don't get me wrong, I'm sure there people out there who actually have it, but in the furry fandom, it's like the new ADD.

That's the truth IRL, as well.

Asperger's. The International Furry Excuse. Little do people realize it doesn't effect online interactions very much at all because while it is a form of autism, all it really does is affect your ability to read body language.

Or so says an RL friend of mine who has it and doesn't use it as an excuse for anything. Then again, he's not a furry.

Concerning Asberger's, people (like me) who were told they had it from a doctor are usually truthful (It's not overdiagnosed like ADD.). However, people who "self-diagnosed" it mistake ordinary things for synptoms of AS.

Meh, this may or may not explain why Neutron189 hates Crush Yiff Destroy......I liked it till I kind of did a search on there for "autism".

Feel free to comment on this Crush Yiff stuff, and cite more examplehs.

Yuppersh, kind of.....!

Mr. Cullen!! *points at his posts* Awesome.

I do kinda agree with some of that. People are using Aspergers as a way to get attention and pity.
But not all Aspergers are completely removed socially, and don't care about it. We've just got some problems connecting.

And now I don't want to mention I have it because people are gonna go all "ASS BURGER LOLOLOLOL!!" when I was actually diagnosed and all these people are getting their information from the fakes and their predisposed notions.
Also.

CYD is kind of a site you have to take with a grain of salt. Some of it is serious but most of it isn't.
Their pictures and some articles are lol though.
I completely disagree that people who are self-diagnosed mistake things; everyone in my family who knows me agrees that I am autistic.. just because a doctor who you've just met says differently is not a definitive answer.
