Excuse me, as for i had trouble which to post this under.
As a child aspie, and a Anti-Cure supporter, I believe we should get our voice heard to the public more strongly than ever before.
As I am reaching the age of 15, i am still an "insolent" teenager who has a mental age beyond his actual age (took a survey, came back with 32!). I am starting to fear what will become of us if we do not react. When i mean react, i mean in a peaceful matter, NOT VIOLENT! *points to quote* you can ignore what i say, or listen to it, but in the end, we should all agree we need to stop the organizations.
1. Political Cartoons- we should view how CAN is unjust and needs to be unlabeled as the "Righteous Savior Of Parents With Autistic Children"
2. Online- This website is one of the best ideas i have seen yet, along with the petition at http://www.petitiononline.com/aspies/petition.html, but this can be taken further. I know this sounds far-fetched, but with online games, such as World Of Warcraft, Guild Wars, Unreal Tournament, Halo 2, etc., we could create a group on those games that could represent us, give the public a reason to steer away from the "Obsessive Retard" stereotype that has been labeled on some aspies.
3. United Nations- I congratulate Amy on the letter to the UN, amazing job. If we can get a position in the UN, then we could get more support.
4. School recognition- I have been doing this lately. I have started groups at my school of NTs coming out of class(sometimes after school), and me telling them what autism is, why they shouldn't insult us, and why they shouldn't beg for a cure or prey on us(an aspie at my old Middle School was beaten by a teacher for being scared of having autism). also, group together the aspies so weekly they can talk.
I will add more later, for now, i go play my games. Other Ideas are welcome.
