Why neutral facial expression?  Why not?
If you smile they'll think everything is great and if everything is great it must be time to screw with the odd quiet guy.  If you make a sad expression some fool is going to try to "cheer" you up.  Please! get the hell away from me with your fake pitty and useless small talk.
Bottom line, neutral expression is safer it will give the "normals" less of an excuse to bother you and ask you all of their pointless questions.
Not true in my experience. I have a very neutral look and gaze and I am constantly asked and questioned. I am told that this is because it is a 'mature look' hence people think I will know the answer ( which I generally do ). Smiling is often fake and not trusted. Looking miserable is unappealing and will likely prompt questions of concern. Neutral is safest if you are informed.
It depends on what mood I'm in.  I do smile a lot of the time, then there are times when I just can't be bothered to smile.
Ok, so maybe my neutal expression is scarier than yours, but people tell me all of the time I look pissed, unless I'm faking a smile and then sometimes they say it's worse because it looks like I'm thinking up some evil plot. anyway to each their own
I think most people will think you're weird even if you wear a neutral expression. They expect you to smile all the time when you're out in public, and anything less will make you seem "detatched" or "weird". That's the message I get anyway.
If your mouth's default expression is a frown, this will be impossible.
I can't smile unless I feel happy and that isn't really often.
