is the a pattern to the food he likes?does he like a surtain flavor or texture to his food that  he will eat?if so it could be a senery issuse like the feel on shis touge or  the smell of the food. at about the same age as your son i  adored smother foods like soupsand creamy peanutbutter and to this day i hate vegisbules becuase of thier smell. if there a nutatatit  issuse  try a milk based  vitiam drink like Ensure, ask his doctor if that would be right for him.
i guessed the word i want to say is sound  like new-tree-aunts.
i was the same way, i still am.. does he eat hamburger meat or chicken? have you tried beef  stew  or cooking  beef in  a crock pot with broth it  makes it soften... easy to chew and if you spice and be creative it makes a very tasty meal. he might like some of the stew meats that get soft  when cook in  stock.(these are thing i find very easy to eat and so  i like to eat them. he might be the same way)
crock pots are neat you can make  supper in them and leave them.Big Grin it might help his  eating trobles too.

I will try to cook soft meat for him. I really want him to eat meat, it's a protein. Reading all answers and thinking about them helped me to see our situation more clearly.  Smile

how does he dance and why? perhasp a vibrating foot rest or something like it at his chair might help if it a need for motion is the cuase.
I didn't try vibrating pillow during mealtime, I think it would be distractive. But generally, he loves vibration and other strong inputs like this. At the peak of our food fight I was worried he would develop anorexia, so I almost gave up trying new foods for him. I hope we will work it out somehow, maybe in few years.

Hi, are there any adult autistics here to advise on probable eating disorders of young autistic children?  My son, 6.5, eats only when I feed him, only two or three foods.  If anyone else offers him to have dinner, he would rejects.  I can't go to work, leave him with anyone, becasue in the end of the day he is so hungry.  I don't know when it will finish, and I am very concerned as this impacts his independence.

i only eat a few diffrent types of food everyday.
same thing over and over, and then i switch to something new.
at work i eat the exact same thing everyday.
some days when i feel better, i might be impulsive and try something new.
if someone i love and trust goes away somewhere for a while i dont eat, drink, sleep, shower, clean the flat etc.

i think about it as if i am a dog.
when i went away my dog did not eat, drink, sleep etc either.
not untill he got older that is.
