Yesterday, Israeli newspaper "Globes" published an article about the autistic community. The article mentions both Autistic Pride Day and Amy's letter to the UN. It even has a picture of the infinity logo!
The article is titled: "A community in its definition stages".
The sub-title says: "The autistics do not define themselves as ill, and they suffer mainly from the communication with the "normal" people. In recent years, there has also been a change in their self perception and they demand recognition".
The words under the picture say: "A change of perception. Donna Williams and the Autistic Pride logo":

Always good to be recognised by a near dictatorship.

good luck to you guys, you're gonna need it ;p
I wonder what the common perception of autism is in Isreal.
Probably the same as anywhere else: It's a disability.
Nice! I think I like the Israelites now.

Too bad the paper wasn't translated. I can't read Hebrew writing. Does anybody have the translation?

While I can't speak on how it's percieved, I did notice some time back that there is an Hebrew-language Aspergers article on Wikipedia when many other languages at that time didn't have translations/variants, so... read into that what you will, increased intrest perhaps?

Yeah, Donna Williams and all the other autism activists are my idols. That's cool that somebody likes us and our infinity logo.
