Hey all,
I got a welcome letter and some other paperwork back from the Autism Research Centre in Cambridge, after persuading my doctor to refer me to them.
The rumour about having to take a parent/sibling was true - otherwise they are unable to carry out diagnosis.
They also want me to fill in AQ and EQ questionnaire's and details about employment/education.
There is also a questionnaire for the parent/sibling to fill in and send first - its based on how I acted when I was a kid, you know, the usual 'did they play creatively with other young people'.
This is to decide if the diagnosis process 'would be helpful to me'.
I have a horrible feeling they might not allow me to go there - I felt like the EQ test isn't written to apprreciate people like me. Also, my parents are sceptical and I don't remember showing clear aspie like traits when I was young, except having few friends and being picked on.
