Wait! Maybe we could start a weekly magazine called Autizine or something, where people can submit their works by chapter! That would be better than a giant homocidal collection of autistic works.
Oh! I like that idea! We could also have articles, that way, and the content would always be up-to-date. And no fighting about who would get to do the cover art, since everyone would have a turn...
If we are going to do this, we'd need the following positions taken(at the very least):
Editor in chief
Literary Editor (edits for grammar and content)
Layout Editor
Writers-
- Journalists
- opinion columnists
Artists, preferably with at least one comic strip artist
People to send in stuff for us to publish, who are not regular contributors
And probably more I haven't thought of, but that's a good place to start.
I'll be a writer and an artist.
Any other takers?
So, so far we have:
Literary editor: Logical Paradox
Writers: Luai, Nyanchan
We need more people!!
I like the idea of the 3-5 people discussing the material. Perhaps a few writers, an artist and the editor in chief could comprise this selection committee?
So far:
Literary Editor: Logical Paradox
Regular Writers: Luai, How She Twists And Twirls (can I shorten that to "Twists and Twirls"?), Samuel
Irregular contributors: Luai, Nyanchan
Artists: Twists and Twirls, Logical Paradox
Maybe Catepa will agree to produce artwork, too.
I have rather odd taste in names so maybe I shouldn't contribute there, but I've always liekd the word 'paper'. Maybe we should start a list of possible names? Do the names have to make any sort of sense? I like "Paper Prisms" or "Paper Shards", I don't know why. Also "Fragmented Thoughts".
Editors: Logical Paradox, ichtims
Writers: Luai, Twists and Twirls, Meega, Nyanchan, Samuel
Artists: Luai, Twists and Twirls, Logical Paradox, Catepa
Aut-something would work, perhaps something cool sounding like AEther Real (AE symbol) and if nothing else, Default0

.
If we can't find someone to help with the web stuff, we can always go post a plea for help in the computers/technology forum.

As it's going to be on online, could we use white text on a black/dark grey background? I find sites like that less over-stimulating.
Hi write4sanity,
Of course you can be involved! It's good you have experience, because most of us don't, so we'll need your help!
I think that often happens, Logical Paradox. When an idea isn't moving along quickly enough for people's taste or they feel they've hit a wall, they just stop.
I think we need at this point to stop, organize ourselves, and create a step-by-step procedure to follow in order to get this done.
I'm not sure what should be done first, but at some point we do need to start collecting material for the first issue, so- I propose we decide on a theme or underlying idea for the first issue and that people get started writing/drawing!
ichtms, I think there are free webservers. I don't know if they're ad free, though. Does it really matter?
"On-demand publishing" is one sign of a vanity press, and you have to be careful with those; it seems like a good idea until all your money is gone.
I believe
http://www.absynthemuse.com has some articles on the dangers of vanity presses if you'd like to read more.
Being a member at the aforementioned website, I can use their forums and I can ask advice there about how to set up an e-zine, if that's what people are agreed on doing first.
I suggest we start a thread where writers can submit the work they want published so our submissions comittee can all see & read them. All replies to the thread would HAVE to be submissions; the submission comittee can share their views of the piece via PMs, and then notify the author of acceptance or refussal via PMs as well.
What do you guys/girls think?
I've had an idea.
We can get our own (free) forum where people can submit works that they'd like to be included in the magazine, which will then be reviewed by the editors/ content comittee, who could comunicate using PMs or via mod-only boards.
I think this might be better than using a chat room to comunicate because I know many of us live in seperate time zones, and there could be difficulty agreeing on a set time we can all be there.
Well, we could, if Gareth/Amy are OK with it. But they might not be. So we should ask them.
There is a seperate thread for name suggestions, please post them there.
