I hate it when I say stuff that doesn't make sense, or make stupid spelling mistakes and maths mistakes and things that I was about to delete before posting but accidentally posted instead.
I agree, we need an edit button.
*plead*
*beg*
*whine*
*make nuisance of self*
We won't get one because some people will abuse it.

I would really like one though.
That is a very good idea. Are those possible? if so they should definitly be implemented.
By 'those' I meant edit buttons that can be used for 10 minutes after a post has been made.

I do know there is a 'Preview Post' button already available for use.
No, no, the 10 minutes idea is stupid.

What if, above 10 minutes later, you realised you made a fatal mistake. Time hates many Aspies. A

lso, the edit button may be used to add an update to your first post so that everyone can see it. That's usually an edit over 10 minutes;icvhblksgx dbliseb8or;v. *mental block*

I say a fully functional edit button. People can be warned if they abuse the edit button to get rid of their post.
Hmmm you are right, especially since it commonly takes me over ten minutes to right a post, I may run out of time whilst correcting one.

How about severe punishments for those who abuse their editing privalages. Punishments such as internet stick beatings or forum boo's, where you just post a quote of the edited post and then write BOOO!! that should deter them.
Yeah. It seems you beat me to posting.

Now if I had an edit button, I could add a quote of Meiloyns post, and remove all of this unnessecary posting and confusion.
That wouldn't be so good.

Take the case above for example. I posted not long after you, if you wanted to make a change to your post, you wouldn't be able to do it.
Yeah, but that would be a needless waste of time, if there were an edit button.

You can just correct spelling or gramatical errors with a subsequent post, but nobody really wants to see a board full of posts that are just correcting errors in previous posts.
As in a thread the subsequent messages usually are replies, an edit button might bring chaos. Imagine what would happen if the original post was deleted, or changed in a substantial way, then the replies would be out of place, would sound illogical or stupid.

I know that we can be picky with words, but as long as the main meaning of a post is understood there shouldn't be a problem. If anyone detected that a peer misinterpreted  a post, then it would be plausible to make another post explaining.

Some people should be more at ease, relaxed, and avoid worrying for very little grammatical  mistakes.

I admit to having abused the edit button on another forum -- the official forum for The Bold And The Beautiful.  But I would never do that on here. Wink

We used to have an edit button before the site went off air early last December.

I made a critical post judging a mother over her site and I feel bad about it, i wish I could delete it or edit it. The poll needs editing as well. http://www.aspiesforfreedom.com/showthread.php?tid=6322

Don't feel bad. Smile The site that you're referring to involved a lot of curebie language and you had every right to speak out about it.
