This is a creation myth meant to cover the creation of man, the earth, sun and moon, or the seasons. This was actually a homework response to Greek creation mythology.
The myth is long because I covered the creation of all four mentioned above. We only had to do one of them, but I decided to do all.
I just might develop this into a bible in the future if I get bored.
~*~ ~*~
In the beginning, there was nothing. It wasn’t black, it wasn’t white, it wasn’t any colour at all. It was so big and stretch over what would have been everything if something existed. Nothing happened, for there was no time, or anything to happen. It wasn’t like anything you or I could imagine, for we all only know a world where there was something.
And then the stars appeared. One by one, each star opened its eyes, now the new gods of this vastness. The stars couldn’t decide upon a ruler. Each one believed it should rule for a different reason.
Then one young star said to the others that he believed that if they couldn’t pick a ruler, they should make one. The rest of the stars agreed.
Each star concentrated with all their power to create enough light for a new star. And the star was born. The young star was clothed and fed and educated until she was old enough to become the new ruler. She chose Omnia as her name.
Omnia felt that the vastness was empty. It was a black place where there was absolutely nothing but stars. The celectial society could function fine like this, but where was the beauty? The creativity?
Omnia decided that the stars must take care of something, to have a mission in life. Omnia summoned a star named Geoterra, and told her to create a round ball from a hot, fiery core. Geoterra was confused, but she did as she was told.
After hard work, the ball was created. Omnia approached it again, but realized that something was missing. She called Hydro, the potions maker, and told him to create an “essence of life.” Hydro didn’t know what an “essence of life” was, but he worked hard to create a simple looking, clear chemical that was refreshing to the touch. Omnia took this and poured it over the ball.
The “essence of life” didn’t create the effect Omnia expected. Geoterra didn’t know what else to do, and Hydro knew it was the essence of life she wanted. They were again missing something.
Another star, named Atmo, was rather famous for causing mischief with his breath. He’d blow one star through a crowd of more stars, and make them angry. Aero was imprisoned for causing trouble, but Omni realized his mighty breath might actually be useful, so she called him. Atmo, happy to find that he was out of prison, blew at the giant ball. Geoterra, Hydro and Omnia were together holding it, so instead of blowing the ball away, Atmo’s breath formed a shell around it.
Then, out from the essence of life, came the creatures of the world. A male dog, a female dog, a male tiger, a female tiger, a male human and a female human, and others. Omnia was happy until she noticed that none of the creatures could see. Unlike the stars, they did not shed their own light; therefore they needed an artificial light to guide them.
Omnia then called another prisoner, Sol. Sol was known for his extremely bright light, so bright that it blinded the stars. He had been cursed forever so his light would wax and wane over the day, creating night. Now Sol had been given the task of shining light upon the ball. The creatures could now see.
Sol’s curse could not be reversed, so sometimes there was light, and sometimes there was darkness.
Humans by now had come together, and formed a society of their own, mimicking the stars. They called Sol the sun, the ball they lived on Earth, the essence of life water, Sol’s light day, and the darkness night. Humans could only see the stars at night, for Sol blocked their proper view of the sky. They did not believe that the stars created them, however, and only noticed patterns in the stars that told their own tales.
~*~
A few years passed. The humans were happy. The only thing they weren’t happy about was the night. It scared them. There was nothing in the sky to look up to. Sol recognised this problem and decided that maybe his curse should be lifted. By now, Hydro had developed an antidote to Sol’s curse, so he drank it.
Sol now was able to shine all day, and there was no night. Now there was a slight problem. Humans had gotten used to the night, despite how they hated it. They decided that since they needed to sleep some time, they might as well sleep at night.
The humans became so dependent on this schedule that they waited for night in order to sleep. Night never came, and they never slept. Humans went on with their day’s work, unaware that the night was gone. Because they didn’t sleep, they became tired. If this kept on they would die and Omnia’s experiment to keep the stars occupied would fail.
Hydro realized he made a mistake, so he placed the curse upon Sol again. The humans finally fell asleep, but they weren’t any less afraid of the night.
Sol finally figured out a solution to the problem, and asked Geoterra to make a smaller ball for the Earth that was white. Geoterra made the ball. Sol told the rest of the group that when it was night, he would hold this ball up in the sky to make the humans feel safe. Omnia agreed that this was a good idea, and it was. Humans did feel happy, and they called Sol’s ball the moon.

The job of blowing on the Earth did not keep Atmos from making mischief. He was good for a while, but then he started blowing on the Earth really hard, So hard that the ground was no longer green, warm and fertile, but brown and dead. Hydro had started a cycle a while ago that made water fall from the sky to keep the water in the oceans from running out. Atmos’s mischief ruined this system, and instead of water, tiny, cold flakes of ice fell from the sky. Instead of seeping into the earth, they remained on top and coated the ground with cold, white fluff.
Humans had mixed feelings about this change. On one hand, the cold snow (as they called it) was beautiful and fun to play in, but on the other hand, they didn’t like the cold and finding food was harder.
No one really noticed what Atmos was doing until Hydro decided to check on his rain system to make sure it was working properly. He was angry to find what Atmos had done to the world and told Omnia. She was even angrier, and banished Atmos back to prison.
Without any wind to keep the earth cool, the snow melted away, and the green grass returned. It was warm again. Humans were now all happy, although they missed the snow. It was better this way after all.
Or so they thought. The lack of wind made the earth hotter and hotter. The grass withered in the heat. The creatures choked and coughed as they struggled to breathe. The world needed Atmos in order to survive.
Geoterra noticed this and told Omnia that she needed to bail Atmos back out of prison and give his job back. With the wind back, the world went back into balance.
Atmos needs be watched, however, so Omnia appointed a new star named Equinox to supervise him.
Atmos didn’t cause any trouble for 3 months, but then Equinox had to leave to spend time with her family. He took this as an opportunity to create winter, as the humans called it. Equinox was out for 3 months, then came back to watch Atmos again, so he created spring to grow back the plants he destroyed. This lasted for another 3 months until Equinox learned that Atmos had made winter while she was out, and imprisoned him for yet another 3 months. When he came back, he decided to create fall this time for more 3 months, and the cycle would start again. The trees started dropping red leaves during the fall to warn the humans that winter was coming, so they would be prepared.
