Michael Keaton was the best as Batman, but Val Kilmer was possibly a better Bruce Wayne. Christian Bale's performance was interesting, not in a particularly good or bad way.
Whereas George Clooney didn't work particularly well as either.
Christian Bale was my favorite.
I haven't seen the first two for awhile, but Michael Keaton just doesn't look like Batman for some reason. The second two are way too campy. I think that the latest Batman is by far the best.

Christain Bale played Batman better than all, he had the personality and persona from the comics nailed. the rest of them werent very good.
even though Val Kilmer made an excellent Jim Morrison and has shown his talent in other films (like "The Sultan Sea") he just didnt do a great batman... it was ok but it wasnt great, i dont think he put himself into the project as he truly shouldve.
George Clooney definitely did not look like a Batman.
I chose Christian Bale. "Looking" at their faces I would pick Val Kilmer as the next "best". One reason to pick Bale was maybe that it was refreshing to see him as a good guy (he was Patrick Bateman in AMerican PSycho; or Amps, as I think of it).
What about Adam West? What other Batman do you know out there who takes on the role of Mayor (of Quahog for that). ^^
Adam West also appears as Catman on "Fairly Oddparents", so clearly he is the superior Batman. Also, what other Batman did the Batusi?

I think Michael Keating made the best Batman, followed by Christian Bale. The other two didn't really look like my idea of what Batman would have been (based on the comics I used to read).
Keaton had the advantage of playing batman in a very good batman movie, and in being the first of the "new" (post Adam West / TV) films -- and I think that may be why he is so widely considered the best Batman.
But his physicality was just sooooo wrong. Batman should not look like some guy that sells office supplies. Not handsome, not powerful. I couldn't get past the certainty that there was no body inside that big puffed-up bat-suit.
I never felt they got it right until Christian Bale.
