Hi, just noticed that there was no thread for this AWESOME game, and wanted a place to discuss it. This game is HUGE, and definatley has enough new content for HUNDREDS OF HOURS of play time. not only does it have LOTS of options, customizations, and the like, but it also has very few glitches; although, some of the glitches are seemingly very large. In my next post, I will discuss my favorite glitches. Feel free to post comments, complaints, questions, related things, or just about any random word that comes into your head. There is only one rule, but THIS RULE MUST BE FOLLOWED AT ALL TIMES, and that rule is:
HAVE FUN!!!!
My favorite glitches are

For the Xbox 360)
- Duplicate Items Glitch
to do this, equip any bow and arrows (the number of arrows decides how many duplicate items there will be), then pull the arrow back all the way. with the arrow like this, press B, then release the Attack button. attempt to select the arrows you have equipped, then drop the item you wish to duplicate (Almost anything but quest/special items will work), then press B again. the arrow will then spew out your duplicate items.
- Unending Magical Item Effect (or "Ghost Item")
First, duplicate a magical effect item, then pick up at least two of it. then pull back an arrow all the way, and press B; release Attack. equip one copy of the item, then attempt to select the arrows you are using. then, go back and drop the unequipped version of the item. press B. you will then not be able to equip the item or any of it's duplicates, but it's effects will always affect you.
Isn't taking advantage of glitches cheating?
Like the 'W-item trick' in Final Fantasy VII.
Elder Scrolls IV is a MMORPG right?
Someone's building a totally interactive Midgar for Oblivion
Ian
Well, a lot of computer games cheat like crazy, so taking advantage of glitches is a way for players to even the odds a little bit.
Thanks for the info.
Outside the small niche of JRPG's (Japanese role-playing games) my knowledge of RPGs is quite limited. I didn't even know MRPG's existed. I will have to try it one out one day.
The 'W-item trick' is a glitch in the game where you can duplicate any item in the game up to a total of 99 aslong as you can use it in battle, have more than one of them to start with, and have the W-item materia (where the glitch gets its name, the W-item materia allows you to use two items in one go). Some people use this to duplicate the best items in the game and then show off as to how good they are at FFVII by beating the hardest enimies in the game using them, but it is basically cheating.
They do a starwars MMORPG (galaxies :p) with space expansion etc..its pay to play mind lol
Ian
Yeah they did that with Final Fantasy XI.
I don't have enough money to pay to play it online.
But one day I will. I'm thinking of buying an X-box 360 especially for it, when I get the money.
Is the Star Wars MMORPG Knights of the old republic?
Star Wars Galaxies is the MMORPG, set in the Imperial Era (with an expansion set during EP3)
Ian
It doesn't appear that there is a different RPG term for Elder Scrolls, but if it is that big a game then MRPG is a good term for it.
I tend to take my time playing through RPG's. The longest it has taken me to complete a game was FFVIII. That took me about 60 hours. So y the time I had finished Elder Scrolls the next installment would probably be out.
Never played it but must say I was dead upset when my partner had to kill the cute gay vampire bloke who was so lovely

I challenge you to a Deathmatch, in your game of choice.
I am sure I would beat you, every time.
I agree, because I generally don't play games that require acting quickly, and while I enjoy certain adventure games and puzzles, otherwise computer games aren't for me. (I like watching people play games sometimes though, depending on the game)
There's a new game out which is adventure/mystery etc, it's called "Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened" and is getting good reviews... sounds like something you would enjoy. Doesn't require any "reacting quickly" at all, it's more adventure/sleuthing.
I'm going to see if I can get my hands on it.
My partner played it and it seemed pretty good (he's into Lovecraft RPGs), glad it's getting good reviews in the US because PC Gamer in the UK totally trashed it (I think the review was entitled "Yes ***, Sherlock"
The only annoying thing is that it lets you interact or try to interact with objects that you can't use yet (because the story hasn't progressed far enough), which can get a bit annoying because the character keeps going "I can't do that yet!" all the time!
I'm surprised you even knew what I was talking about, even more surprised that you have played/seen the game yourself!
Never played it, with things you don't physically do I seem to enjoy them and remember them better passively. I remember precious few games I played myself but so much more about those I just watched or listened to while on my laptop.
One game you probably wouldn't enjoy much (but is great to watch because the atmosphere is just fantastic) is Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth. It probably has some similarities to Sherlock Holmes: Awakened but is a lot more action oriented.
Is that the one narrated sort of through the protagonist's diary, and he discovers this old house with a person split into their separate organs in the cellars? Then he's suddenly in an asylum etc?

I looked it up and I think it is that one. There are so few adventury games out there, chances are I've seen them played. (Other ones 'recently' were "Broken Sword: Angel of Death" - not as good as previous ones to be honest. I did play the game boy version of an older game they have, if it's small and right with me I can play games better with better recall of the story - and "Tunguska" - very recommendable if you like adventure games)
That was pretty impressive (If it's not too fighty I like watching it, I just can't do the fighting myself if I want to actually get any of the story), the little girl going "Mummy's in the attic. She's been bites." and later when Mummy has chomped the poor girl, she haunts him in the sewers.
I love how his health status is reflected by his decaying sanity and how the visual feedback on the screen frazzles and wobbles when he's hurt. I can sort of identify with that actually.
