I find it wierd every time I can relate to something like this. I always feel awkward when walking like I havn't really got the hang of it and that people are watchign me. I always have an urge to run everywhere, I can't walk up stairs, I have to run up them and I always run up stairs on my toes.

Wow. I always used to do that when I was younger. (up until sometime in my 20's, I think)

Had to make a concious effort NOT to do it at school.

Man I love this place. You've given me yet another "ohhh wow, other people do that too" moment.

heh, on these forums i can just reply by combining previous quotes Cool

i also always feel like people are watching my funny walk when i'm in public.  and when i feel like people are watching me, walking just becomes harder which makes me feel like even more people are watching me, in the end i even have to knowingly concentrate on putting one foot in front of the other. otherwise i think my walk seems strange because i don't see any purpose in swinging my arms so they just hang there or i put them in my pockets, i think i also keep my legs more straight than other people and i walk very fast, in fact as fast as possible because i don't know why i should slow down unnecessarily

I used to use my hands on the stairs now I just tip toe up them really fast. I have to concentrate on walking like georgije, it's really bad and I hate it. I never know what to do with my arms, never ever.

More ways I walk:

- With a hunch in my back, I step hard, with a rather high bounce in my step. I like to walk like this to jingle my chain pants if I'm wearing them.

- I love running in my chain pants. =3 Because then they jingle a LOT, and I'm really happy.

- With a bounce in my step at a tempo of 120.

- Very fast series of small steps. I walk like this to get out of people's way, dodge about a thick crowd, or to pretend to be freaked out.

- Side gallops. I find this to be the fastest way to get somewhere, although it takes a bit of energy.

- Like Edward Wong Hau Pepelu Trivisky IV, with long strides and arms swinging widely outwards. To be funny.

omgosh! (forgive me, for i'm still very new to this "wow other people do the things i do" feeling)

^I do this to move fast, get around corners in my house, freak out my mom...heheh

when i was younger until about 14, i (almost religiously) crawled on my hands and knees. It was most comfortable and i just loved to do it. My parents would be furious, especially when i did it around company. My stepmother even said that she was sure i was a dog in my past life (lol).
I've since been broken of the habit (my parents doing) but i do use my hands and kind of leap/crawl up stairs.

I also: skip, shuffle my feet quickly to move fast/almost fun, tiptoe up/down stairs and drag my feet a bit.

When i was younger people would comment on my walk. my feet stick out at the sides a little severly so i kind of waddle?/sway?/switch?.
One girl even said i walk like i have a stick up my buttSad  I promtly kicked her in hers.

Other than these (many?) quirks I walk fine. heh

I walk with my left foot not moving as far up as my right foot, which actually makes me walk fater, though I can't run for long distances due to being pigeon-toed.
N-N-NECROBUMP
i walk with my feet pointing inward.
other than that it depends on my mood.
if i'm in a good mood i walk normally.
if i'm down i sort of weave and stare at the ground a few feet in front of me.
if i'm full of energy i run.
oh i wasn't done.
if i'm full of energy and not allowed to run i end up humming or doing some other stim.
I walk extremely fast, that is, according to most other people, who to my mind walk infuriatingly slowly! It really 'hurts' me to walk very slowly - I'd rather go on ahead for a bit at my own pace, then stop and wait for the other person to catch up, then go on ahead again.  I kinda feel a bit like the dogs you see that run ahead of their owners and then stand and wait...Big Grin
And I like to run a bit as well, especially down hills on sunny days! Big Grin
i go up stairs two to four steps at a time.
going down i skip stairs by twos or threes and normally jump the last four or five.
I usually used to go up steps and down by skipping one (but things have changed when my parents moved to two different one story houses). In terms of walking, I actually have become more able to walk straight, but it's a little difficult because I have horribly large calf muscles that rub together when I walk, making it awkward.
I've never noticed it, but people point out to me a lot that I walk like a kid - with my toes pointing slightly inward.

Like a kid?  If you watch people's feet, I think a lot of people do this.

Also, a while ago someone posted something about running hands along things as you go.  I used to do that a lot.  I never thought of it as 'not knowing what to do with my hands' though.
