what do you think. it seems like a intrest an aspies kid might have.
Could be on the spectrum...

Funny thing is, that would have been my son if I had indulged him.    This summer he spent $30 of his allowence money (he gets $10 a month) on one of those motorless vaccums you see in restaurants sometimes...  and he literally cried when I threw out one he bought at a garage sale because it smelled like cat pee when he used it.

When we go into restaurants he always grabs the vacuum and cleans up after us...

Is it a good or bad thing to indulge a kid in an interest that takes up that much space and costs that much money?  My son has other interests as well and we have to limit him on collecting, but try to steer him in the knowledge areas so he can learn more about cars and how the things he likes work rather than just want a bunch of them to own.
Come on... lots of kids have interests in video games, and those take up a heck of a lot more money than vacuum cleaners! The only difference is a little extra closet space... and hey, you probably get clean floors out of the bargain, so I think it's a good thing.
Oh, yeah, and cat pee can be cleaned out of ANYTHING by using an enzymatic cleaner. Just for reference next time your kid brings home a stinky object. Smile (My obsession = cats!).
Even putting it out in the sun can help get rid of festy odours. I hate that stench you get from some vacuum cleaners when they are turned on and it smells like cat poo but is probably just stale stuff that's been sitting in the cleaner for a while.

I saw a place that even used old vacuum cleaners for mailboxes. They were the small ones that split in two so you can clean them out and put in new bags. The house had a business repairing vacuum cleaners from home and I gather that they never wasted even the ones that couldn't be fixed.
Yep. Definitely an Asergian interest.

I like that kid.

Also, when the croud cheered, notice that he places his fingers near his ears, as if he's getting the urge to block the sound but realised it wasn't polite. I'm pretty sure most aspies hated the sound of crowds as a kid due to senses.
Also, doesn't our friend Ian collect vacuum cleaners as well?
