This case has been discussed before in the Treatment in Society forum...here's the details of the verdict. (The link in the other forum won't work; I typoed and couldn't edit)

Five years of complaints against this woman, and allegations of abuse from parents at other schools where she worked, and the district ignored it and the NEA threatened the parents?  Huh? Gods, people are idiots.

At least this verdict pretty much guarantees she'll never teach again.
I think the short sentence for this woman was a joke but at least she will be away from vulnerable children for a time.
I thought I saw 70 years some other place, I guess 5 years is more likely.
^If she had been convicted of all the original charges, the maximum possible sentence would have been 70 years.  Some of the charges were dropped, and out of the ones she went to trial on, two were thrown out for lack of definitive evidence.
