Pictures were sketched mostly in and around Nottingham, UK (as that's where I'm from).

A few were done while on holiday in Weymouth, Dorset (UK).

Another at the Center Parcs holiday villiage (Notts, UK).

The old man with the baby (my father-in-law and first born son).

Thank for the compliments by the way (I can feel my head growing as I type)

I'm not sure I can suggest any particular solution to impatience.

But what's good about landscapes is they change very little over time. I tend to sketch on the way to work which means I can usually only spend 10-15 mins sketching each day. For me, it takes longer than 10-15 minutes to complete a sketch. And so I'll come back to the same location for a few days (weather permitting) in order to complete a sketch. Doing a sketch in small chunks allows me to avoid boredom and distraction (and to a degree impatience). It stops me from making silly mistakes.

These are great. You have a very distinct style. I used to love drawing, watercolour pencils are my favourite, but I never seem to have the inclination or patience any more.

I like the one of the chair best, I find pictures like this fascinating.

So do I!
Although I think it could do with some re-upholstering, lol.Wink

Where is the canal located that is on pics 4 & 5  ? ( below the heron )  they look rather like Lancaster or eEst Lancs.

The canal's in Nottingham--Nottingham city centre in fact.

I spotted the heron on the canal too; he was standing on the middle, left hand side of picture 8.

Thanks for your very generous comments grizeldatee, woman from mars, Ren Chou, wilky, rossco, tenaciouscj.

Glad you liked them.

Wilky--yes I think that chair could stand some re-upholstering--but don’t worry, I’ve got it covered.

I like the contrast between the yellow and green and the darker blue and purple colours…Gorgeous!

Looks (to me) like the foundations of a old building that nature has reclaimed by growing beautiful flowers and grass over it…

Here’s a VERY quick sketch I did on holiday recently.

And a not so good sketch I did a while back.

Aw, it's not so bad. Those electrical towers are just like the ones in Melbourne.
We have lots of electrical towers near hear.

This picture seems to have depth/dimension--like boxes of coloured light--you’re a great artist! Smile

Why do we post our artwork?
