That's because reporters, the news and all others couldn't give a *** about why. They find bullying to be trivial and normal like driving or working. That plus they're just exploiting everything but the background, sensationalising this as severely as the Nazis did when they burnt down the Reichstag and blamed it on a Danish communist/Jew who happened to be found nearby by coincidence.

As for what the kid did, I have to say this: Any act of rebellion against tyrants and tyranny like this is honorable. He should get a medal rather than a jail sentence. And didn't anyone notice that he was concerned for the boy's life after he stabbed him! Also, police tend to distort facts. I think he said more than "I did it! I did it!"

Odgren slashed Alenson's throat before stabbing him through the heart and in the abdomen, Bennett said.

A third student was in a bathroom stall and heard Alenson say, "What are you doing, you are hurting me," Bennett said.

As Alenson stumbled into the hallway, the third student emerged from the stall and Odgren said, "Don't worry, I'm not going to hurt you," Bennett said.

Odgren allegedly kneeled beside the dying Alenson and checked his pulse.

"I did it. I just snapped. I don't know why," Odgren allegedly told a teacher who ran to the scene, Bennett said.

Odgren, who was indicted last week, appeared in Middlesex Superior Court and pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder.

Shapiro said his client is under suicide watch at a juvenile jail in Plymouth, and that his mental condition is deteriorating.

"At different times through his knowledge of forensics, weapons, and his knowledge of other horror stories, he terrorized other students," Bennett said.

Odgren once chased a student while holding a shard of glass and told other students that he knew how to commit the perfect murder, Bennett said.

Bennett said Odgren played a violent video game the morning of the killing, and in prior days said goodbye to online friends.

Sudbury Police Chief Peter Fadgen said on Saturday that Odgren brought a fake gun and small folding knife to school on separate occasions before the stabbing. He said a psychologist working with Odgren confiscated the weapons, but gave them back at the end of the school day.

Odgren once took a forensics class at a community college near his home.

John Odgren , who was charged with killing James Alenson , 15, had long endured the taunts of schoolmates, who belittled him for wearing a trench coat in the halls, like the killers of Columbine High School.

Shapiro asked that Odgren be sent to Children's Hospital Boston for a psychological evaluation, but the judge rejected the request.

When police officers arrived minutes later, they confronted Odgren, who told them bluntly, "I did it. I did it," according to a police report. "Is he OK?" Odgren asked, his hands and clothing covered in blood. "I don't want him to die."

Marguerite Kirst Colston , a spokeswoman for the Autism Society of America, said Asperger Syndrome does not usually cause violent outbursts. Typically, people with the syndrome are exceedingly intelligent, but struggle relating to peers, she said.

"They may be socially awkward and not understand conventional social rules," Colston said in a telephone interview. "They may be more distant."

Since 2002, there have been 22 criminal cases in the United States in which the syndrome was used successfully to show diminished mental capacity and avoid a conviction, she said.

Jordan Perkins , 18, a senior from Lincoln, said that although students often argue at the school, he has never seen serious violence.

"There are a lot of confrontations that I see all the time," Perkins said yesterday outside the school. "I'm just surprised one turned into somebody getting stabbed and killed."

my conclusion;
he was NOT a normal aspie, either he had a serious disorder, or the medication they put him on GAVE him a serious disorder. i genuenly believe that may have been what happened, ive SEEN medication do that to people my age. ive seen it do it to my own classmates.

i can believe an aspie would be obsessed with weapons, my brother is, but obsessed with killing.. thats pretty much impossible for a normal aspie. as i stated, it is a fact that aspies have a natural instinct Against killing for any reason otehr than protection.

I think there would be a lot less school shootings and killings if kids were allowed to slug (I don't mean kill I mean hit in self defence) the bully instead of worring about getting in trouble for it.
